So what did I write earlier this week? I am not entirely certain. I know that I wrote a little about the kids ministry program. It has been a long hard time writing documentation, but I am about 2/3 done. The tough part has been that while writing it and creating screen shots I have discovered things that I just needed to fix as they bothered me, were broken, or caused more problems than the pain of fixing them. Now I have to write out some standard workflows, polish the installation scripts/instructions, and create a page for it on this website. I will be happy when that is done as I want other churches to be able to benefit from the program, and it will be the "end" of a wonderful learning experience for me.
I know I mentioned the picture gallery. This is something I have been meaning to do, but also putting off, for a few months. I did not want to face the fact that to get something nice I would have to spend money. (Imagine that, getting what you pay for and all...) Well, it has been bought and paid for, and Heather has even started to play around with it now that I showed her basic functionality. The solution supports multiple media formats, not just pictures, so in the future we may be able to put even more up there. In the near time though, Heather plans to start getting pictures up somewhat regularly.
Finally I know I talked a little about having Gideon around. I believe it was mostly me waxing poetic about how I don't suddenly feel different, just as I never suddenly felt different when Heather and I were married. The change was gradual over time. There is even still change happening now, and will be for as far into the future as I can think of.
It is getting on in lateness for now. I am waiting for Gideon to get up for his early night feeding/diaper time. I take this one letting Heather get some solid sleep in the first part of the night. Then in his follow-on one Heather takes it letting me get some solid sleep through the night. Finally, when we are both back at work we will be taking the early morning one together. In fact, had I not been sick the last few days my goal has been to start helping with that one now to be ready when the time comes. On the bright side, as soon as he starts sleeping though the night the early morning one will be a little easier to deal with.
He has been stirring a little the last few minutes. Historically speaking he will be up in about another 15, so I am going to post this and hope it work better than yesterdays did.
